Online Community for MetroWest Nonprofits
Connect, communicate, and share on this new community!
Post your events and job openings, find volunteers, ask questions (and find answers!) in the categories of fundraising, governance, special events, operations, and more.
Why we created it
Each day, MetroWest nonprofits express their needs to us. You’ve asked us to let other nonprofits know about your upcoming events. You’ve asked us how to find a nonprofit that needs volunteers. You’ve asked us how to find help filling out the 990. You’ve asked us if we know any good freelance copywriters. Basically, you’ve asked us to connect you!
And since the mission of the MetroWest Nonprofit Network is to provide expertise, this site fulfills that perfectly–it’s a combination of our expertise, outside expertise, and YOUR expertise.

Policy guidelines
Goal: The MetroWest Nonprofit Network maintains this online community for nonprofit staff, board, volunteers, and stakeholders to connect and communicate with one another. By providing a means for sharing expertise and resources, this online community will strengthen its members’ capacities to fulfill the missions of nonprofit organizations.
All postings should be for the benefit of the nonprofit sector in MetroWest, Massachusetts, or organizations and individuals working in the sector. However, the events and resources posted on this site do not necessarily need to take place in, or emanate from, the Metrowest region. (The MetroWest region of Massachusetts is approximately bordered by Routes 128, 495, 2, and 109, although we welcome the participation of individuals and organizations based outside the region.)
Eligibility: Anyone is welcome to become a member of this online community, to post events and other items, and to join in the Forum conversations. For-profit individuals and entities working for the benefit of the nonprofit sector are welcome to participate. Please note that each member of this online community can adjust their individual settings to receive email notifications when items of specific interest have been posted.
Solicitations: We welcome postings of fundraising events as well as advice, tips, and resources related to fundraising. However, you may not post a solicitation requesting funds from other members of this online community.
Groups: Most of the Groups (see left-hand column of Main page) are closed; membership is by invitation only. However, any organization is welcome to set up a Group. The Group may be reserved for the organization’s internal use or may be open to all, depending on the preferences of the person establishing the Group. If the Group is for an organization’s internal use, the organization must provide its own moderation.
Additional Groups and Forums: If you would like us to create a new Group or a new Forum topic, please send a message to steering.committee@metrowestnonprofit.org
Moderation: All postings will be moderated for inflammatory, fraudulent, political, or false content. Any posting presumed to be inflammatory, fraudulent, or false will be deleted. Any posting that engages in advocacy of a political candidate, proposed or current legislation, or proposed or current government policy will be deleted. However, factual explications of proposed or current legislation or policies are allowable, depending on their veracity. If the veracity is in doubt or unverifiable, the posting will be deleted.
Questions: Please direct questions to online.community@metrowestnonprofit.org
